TSG × AtlasRisks.com · Country Risk · Daily

Country risk, scored daily.
Surfaced through TSG. Lived on AtlasRisks.

Talos clients need the same situational picture our analysts use — a country-level risk score that updates with the news cycle, not a quarterly PDF. We surface that capability through our sister platform AtlasRisks.com — home of the Global Geopolitical Risk Index (GGRI) and the Live Atlas, both refreshed twice daily from a 22-source OSINT pipeline.

01 / The Index — Global Geopolitical Risk Index

A single number for “where is the world today?”

The GGRI condenses 195 country-level scores into one global average and a per-country breakdown. Each country starts from a baseline and is modified by today’s news flow across four signal categories — armed conflict, civil unrest, political crisis, and natural disaster — with a breaking-news bonus for high-severity headlines. The result reflects what’s happening, not what happened last quarter.

Inputs

22 RSS feeds

BBC global & regional, Guardian, NPR, AP, Al Jazeera, France 24, DW, Politico, Foreign Policy, plus state-affiliated outlets flagged for transparency.

Signals

Four categories

Armed conflict, civil unrest, political crisis, and natural disaster — each weighted independently so a coup and a hurricane both register without blending.

Scoring

Baseline + modifier

Every country has a baseline derived from its conflict-history profile. Today’s news bumps the score up or leaves it flat. Capped at 95 to avoid runaway scores.

Cadence

Twice daily

Refresh runs at 0500 EST and 2200 EST. Manual “Pull Now” available to subscribers for breaking events between scheduled cycles.

02 / Live Atlas — Preview · Static Snapshot

What subscribers see on AtlasRisks.com.

The Live Atlas is the interactive dashboard built around the GGRI. Hot countries, top movers, country drill-downs with full event timelines and source attribution — all updated on the OSINT cadence. The mockup below is a static preview to set expectations; the live version lives at atlasrisks.com/dashboard behind a free 15-day trial.

03 / Source Tiers — Credibility Weighting

Every source carries a tier label.

The pipeline tags every headline with a credibility tier so the score doesn’t get hijacked by low-confidence material. State-affiliated outlets are flagged but not excluded — understanding state narratives matters; we just want it visible.

Tier Definition Example Sources Weight
Tier 1
Primary / Authoritative
Government statistics, UN/IMF/World Bank, official filings, regulatory announcements
OFAC · EU sanctions list · Federal Register · UN OCHA

Tier 2

04 / The Partnership — TSG × AtlasRisks

Two products. One operational picture.

TSG runs protection, consultation, and crisis-response engagements. AtlasRisks builds and maintains the open-source country-risk product that informs them. Clients of either can subscribe to the other — and our analysts use the same Live Atlas you would.

Sister Companies

TSG operates protection. AtlasRisks operates the index.

The GGRI was built so our own GSOC analysts could run morning briefings without flipping between fifteen tabs. AtlasRisks productizes that same pipeline for everyone else — corporate security teams, family offices, NGOs, and journalists. TSG clients get a discount on Pro tier; AtlasRisks subscribers can upgrade to TSG advisory when a country crosses their action threshold.
